Session Stories
I love capturing big life moments, and when my friends Liz and Eli hit me up for a maternity session, I was all in. We headed out to Weymouth Woods, where the tall pines and golden sunlight gave us the perfect backdrop.
Liz's red dress popped against the earthy tones of the forest, and Eli was right there with her, making sure she was comfortable and having a good time. My wife was also there to help with posing, and I’m seriously grateful for her eye for detail—having an extra set of hands made all the difference.
One thing that really stood out was how prepared Liz and Eli were. They already had a vision for what they wanted, which made it super easy to blend their ideas with the natural beauty of the location. Since we planned the timing for the best light, we worked fast and wrapped up in less than 20 minutes—proof that you don’t need hours to get amazing shots.
This was actually my first maternity session, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Capturing the love and excitement of growing families is something I’d love to do more of, and this shoot just reinforced that for me.
When editing, I wanted to bring out the warmth of the scene and really make Liz’s dress stand out while keeping that soft, golden glow from the sunlight. The final result? A dreamy, autumn-like vibe that shows off not just the beauty of the location but also the deep connection between these two soon-to-be parents.
If you’re expecting and want maternity photos that feel natural and personal, I’d love to help tell your story. Whether in the woods, by the water, or in the comfort of your own home, let’s capture moments worth remembering.
Starting something new is always a mix of excitement and nerves, and my first official photography session was no different. Cammie and Lucas were the first clients to give me a shot—a “Mommy & Me” session that not only helped me build my portfolio but also taught me a lot about working with real clients (besides my wife and dogs).
They found me through Facebook and were incredibly kind, which helped ease my nerves. We met outdoors for the session, but nature threw in some challenges—cold weather and tricky lighting as the sun filtered through the trees, casting unexpected shadows. Still, we worked through it, and Cammie and Lucas made it easy by being relaxed and natural in front of the camera.
When I delivered the final images, their reaction made all the effort worth it. They loved the photos, and they were well received on social media—another big confidence boost. Looking back, I learned so much about posing, directing, and adapting to outdoor lighting, and while I know I have a lot of room to grow, I’m excited for the journey ahead.
